Well a good place to start would be the pvp zaishen area. What people use there are lots of spirits(both ranger and Ritualist). You're going to need a way to pull and escape, to spirits+trap location. I advise using shadowsteps to get away from traps. You should bind some hero skills to macros to mass trap.

A trapping build I've had a degree of success with is this:
Template code: OgcTc2M/HS2Z4K5Q5Y5A3R4IXEA
Skills:
Trappers Focus {E}
Trappers speed
Dust trap
Flame trap
Barbed trap
Deaths charge
Whirling defense
EBSoH
Works best with a way to snare first, like deep freeze, basically you use trappers focus, trappers speed, teleport in and lay down your traps. Remember to lay down dust trap first.
If you're a fan of mircoing, you could stick this build on a few ranger hero's too, changing the elite to smoke trap and using whatever you like in place of EBSoH. It's purely theory, but it seems like it could cause some major mayhem.
Edit: If you cant find a good time to stick down EBSoH, technobabble can also prove effective.

The main issue isn't having enough damage, or kiting its that mobs don't walk around in perfect balls, you're going to have to do some pulling yourself, and the melee from mobs will just explode all the traps before the casters will get hit by them. Certain areas this would be pretty simple, but then other areas with many mixed groups like the warden groups in kurzick forests would be annoying.

Its usually easy to get casters to ball and move into traps. Then just offensive trap the melee into oblivion.

Not practical, but maybe you'll find something new.
Bring fs where they rez a lot cuz you wont be getting hm mobs to all run into the trap. Healers will stay back or run ahead and trigger em.
The old builds had QZ and EW. Hex's that snare and reckless haste/price of failure could be good with blinded enemies. With minions, you could set more traps and kite.
Bring rits, they have traps that tank and target anyone in range.

I was mistaken about EBSoH + traps... it does work for a lot of them, but it does not work on the most damaging trap (Dust Trap). I was running R/Me with echoed Dust Trap before and it didn't look like EBSoH was doing anything. My apologies.
I tested all of the following against Master of Damage so that the effects of each trap could be seen individually, here are the results.
Black Powder Mine: yes
Dust Trap: NO
Flame Trap: yes
Piercing Trap: yes
Barbed Trap: yes
Spiked Trap: yes
Tripwire: yes
Almost all of these do Piercing damage so Winnowing would be helpful as well.

Balling up for MoP aoe and spirit spam make a trapquish sound far less impressive IMO. Doesn't prove too much using what already rolls PvE. If you're going to claim you can trapquish, rely more on traps and creative ideas and less on the meta.

Trappers need a "Summon Traps" skill (with the same mechanics as summon spirits).

Tested and noted in 2008. Damage from Viper's Nest and Weakness Trap is also increased by EBSoH, as expected.

Majesty's Rest with traps does not sound like fun.

I am the first in the topic to ask this but could you post that pvp build?

This is pretty silly.
Traps don't move. MoP'd target will, in most cases, be cleaned anyway. It's just another way to boost damage; you still need skill to maneuver the mob into your traps to trigger Mark of Pain. It's the same mindset where people go "let's make an all-paragon team with no heals yo". Take ebsoh, take MoP, take as many buffs as you can to boost trap damage when you're successfully catching foes.
For bonus points, trap a route where a patrol are about to walk onto, that would be entertaining.

No, it's just a personal opinion. The prestige, or epicness if you will, behind trapping a vanquish is in how insane it sounds. Now because much of the meta in PvE is OP, drawing heavily upon it to make this idea work takes away from how awesome it could be.
If you're going to take on a crazy idea, go crazy with it.
